Elizabeth and Stephanie | Orlando Quaker Meeting | Grand Bohemian Hotel
Love is Love was truly the vibe of this unique Orlando Same-Sex wedding filled with rainbows, love, and unicorns.
Elizabeth and Stephanie are a super sweet couple that brought together family and friends in a day that no one will soon forget.
They were joined in a Quaker wedding ceremony, a first for me. The Orlando Quaker Meetinghouse, like most, is elegant in its simplicity. Guests gathered and were seated in a circle. A Quaker wedding is self-uniting, meaning there is no officiant.
After their First Look and some photos together, it was important for Elizabeth and Stephanie to have some quiet, private time alone to reflect on their life together. When it was time for the ceremony, the ladies entered the meetinghouse hand in hand and joined their guests by sitting at the head of the circle.
After exchanging vows, the brides signed their beautiful marriage declaration which was read aloud by a friend. Then there was time for silent worship and an opportunity for guests to stand and share their thoughts with everyone.
As guests departed the meetinghouse they were all asked to sign the marriage certificate. What a beautiful way to show love and support for the couple.
After the ceremony guests made their way to the beautiful Grand Bohemian Hotel in downtown Orlando. Festivities began with cocktail hour on the rooftop around the pool. A luxurious lounge draped in white with crystal chandeliers, white and red lounge furniture and accented with rainbow colored votive candles added just the right balance for the beautifully set cocktail hour.
One of the most touching details of the night was a gorgeous rainbow colored floral tribute to the Pulse victims in the pool during cocktail hour.
After cocktails, guests made their way to the Grand Bohemian’s ballroom and were greeted by Miss Sammy, one of the two entertainers, wearing her champagne gown and offering guests flutes of champagne.
The ballroom was washed with rainbow colored lights, simple white floral arrangements, and floating candles decorated guest tables named with “LOVE” in a number of different languages. Beautiful “Love is Love” menu cards and favor boxes were set for each of their guests.
The brides were introduced and enjoyed their first dance, dancing on a cloud.
Miss Sammy and Gidget Galore shared a medley of love songs, dined, danced and were wowed by the brides’ unique and colorful unicorn wedding cake.
The ladies closed out the evening exiting in a cascade of colored pompoms as guests cheered them on.
I’m thrilled to have been asked to capture this spectacular day for two amazing women.
