John and Peter
John and Pete's wedding was beautiful for various reasons. It was moving to watch their emotions range from near disbelief that they were finally getting married to complete exhilaration of wedding day bliss! Being part of this was an honor in many ways.
Pete and I have known each other since high school. I won't post those pictures. ;) And as the story usually goes, we graduate, see each other a few times and then life happens. Thankfully, Facebook kept us in contact over the years, and we finally met up a little over a year ago. Getting to meet John was great! It is always wonderful to see two people so perfect for one another. John instantly melted my heart with his southern charm and welcoming smile!
It was a given that John and Pete's wedding would be elegant and well designed. They own an interior design firm, and a luxury home furnishings company, and they also hired excellent vendors to carry out their vision. Everything from the venue to the florals to the dj was perfectly portrayed on their big day! Let's also chat about their cakes. The movie Steel Magnolias is one of John and Pete's favorites, and they wanted an armadillo cake! And that's what they got! :) They also had a beautiful cake made by Sweet by Holly. John and Peter also love the movie Muriel's Wedding, and they incorporated the dance scene for their guests, complete with costumes!
One of the sweetest moments happened when John decided to follow through with a promise he made to Pete many years ago. John surprised Pete by playing the piano and singing to him during their vows. It was so touching to hear John sing, and see Pete's reaction.
Congratulations to Pete and John! I am so happy for the two of you, and wish you both all the best!
